The iLASIK Procedure

LASIK stands for Laser-Assisted In-situ Keratomileusis. LASIK is a procedure in a family of surgical procedures called laser vision correction. iLASIK is a completely blade-free LASIK procedure that utilizes a femtosecond laser and a fully customized wavefront-guided correction of your vision with an excimer laser. We believe that iLASIK is safest and most precise way to preform LASIK.

Step 1

The process begins during your pre-exam with the iDesign Refractive Studio. iDesign is the first and only topo-integrated, wavefront guided technology used to create a personalized treatment plan. This important step allows us to map your eyes from the inside out for truly customized correction. Please stop wearing contact lenses 2 weeks prior to this exam.

Step 2

While you relax on the treatment bed, your eyelids are gently held open with a soft silicone ring. You will be asked to focus on a special fixation light in a microscope. In a few seconds, the iFS Laser will create a thin membrane of 100 microns to save the most critical top layer of the cornea.

Step 3

After the flap has been created, the excimer laser is used to reshape the cornea. The excimer laser performs customized ablation based on the data provided by the iDesign Refractive studio. The precise reshaping of your cornea takes approximately 30 seconds or less for most patients.

iLASIK Pricing

Achieving your personal best vision depends on many factors including the technology available to you. Alaska Lasik & Cataract Center is the first clinic in Alaska that offers all-laser custom LASIK. We invest in the best technology available because we are invested in your vision and improving your view for the rest of your life.

Pre-Exam $290

Please discontinue contact lens use at least two weeks prior to your exam. Dilation is necessary during the exam and will cause light sensitivity and blurry near vision for a few hours. Pricing may change if you are sent as a referral and are planning on co-managing with your regular optometrist.

iLASIK $2399 per eye

The cost of surgery includes post operative care. This looks like a 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, and 3 month post-op after your surgery. If you should need additional treatment and it is medically safe to perform, the cost of surgery will cover enhancements for up to two years. This does not include annual exams.

Financing Options

CareCredit financing plans are available to suit all budgets. We offer NO INTEREST plans for 6 months, 12 months, 18 months or 24 months on approved credit. That’s up to two years NO INTEREST financing if paid in full within the promotional period.

Can I Use My HSA or FSA?

YES! Your health savings account or flexible spending account can be used to pay for LASIK. This can be a great payment option because the money available in your HSA or FSA are pre-tax dollars. This means that you can save even more than with financing or paying out-of-pocket.
