PROCEDURE OPTIONS

Every eye is different.
Select a procedure to see if it is right for you.

iLASIK

We believe in using only the safest and most advanced technology. That is why our doctors only perform all-laser LASIK. Unlike traditional LASIK, which uses a blade to create a flap on the cornea, iLASIK uses an extremely precise femtosecond laser to perform this step. Then, the excimer laser utilizes topographic wavefront-guided technology to perform custom correction.

PRK

PRK stands for "photorefractive keratectomy." It is a type of laser vision correction that utilizes a different technique to prep the cornea that does not require the creation of a flap. The results are similar to that of traditional LASIK, but the healing time is extended slightly. A small percentage of our patients prefer this method due to personal or professional reasons.

iLASIK FOR READING

The natural aging process of the eye creates a condition called presbyopia. Presbyopia causes the unfortunate and inevitable need for reading glasses or bifocals. Mono-vision is a popular solution to this common problem. Mono-vision is a procedure that utilizes iLASIK to greatly reduce reliance on reading glasses by correcting one eye for distance vision and the other for near vision.

REFRACTIVE LENS EXCHANGE

This vision correction option is an alternative for patients that are not candidates for LASIK. A refractive lens exchange is a surgical procedure similar to that of cataract surgery, but without the cataract. The natural lens is removed and in its place an advanced technology intraocular lens is placed.  It can correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism including up to extreme prescriptions.  We utilize the LenSx laser and ORA analysis scan to achieve the best refractive outcome for each patient.

FAQs ABOUT LASIK

Three Easy Steps to Your Best Vision

1. LASIK Pre-Exam

At this comprehensive exam we use the most advanced topo-integrated scans to determine if you are a good candidate for LASIK. To ensure that we are providing the most accurate correction this exam is valid toward surgery for 90 days. If you choose not to proceed with corrective surgery we can provide a prescription for glasses and/or contact lenses.

2. LASIK Surgery

LASIK is a simple two step procedure that takes about 15 minutes to perform. Before the procedure begins, you will be given eye drops to numb your eyes. While you relax on the treatment bed, your eyelids are gently held open with a gentle soft silicone ring. In a few seconds the femtosecond laser will create a thin precise flap, in less that a minute you are ready for the second step. During the second step the excimer laser will use topo-integrated wavefront guided technology to reshape your cornea. After surgery, you will notice improvement within a few hours. Most patients usually return to normal activities the very next day.

3. Post-Operative Exams

There are four post-op appointments included in your LASIK package. These appointments should be scheduled 1-day, 1-week, 1-month, and 3-months from the date of your LASIK procedure.
